I am delighted to hear the great news of the addition of two gold medals that everyone in the world of fencing has been longing for. Today is truly a historical day.

As the hosting country of the 2020 Games, I look forward to seeing many fencers seeking for the gold medal.

As the President of Japan Fencing Federation, I will do my best with my colleagues and friends to make our sport attractive as ever.

Lastly but not the least, I would like to reiterate my deepest appreciation to all of the members concerned who have worked hard to attain this result.
